Rice Pudding (Kheer)

Hello Foodies!

This is Aditi Sharma and today I am going to share a new recipe of “Rice Pudding” . In India it is Known as (Kheer).

To Make Rice Pudding We’ll mainly needed Only three Ingredients: 1) Basmati Rice 2) Milk 3) Sugar . Optional Ingredients :

Cardamom(Elachi), Dry Coconut(Sukha Nariyal), Cashew(Kaju), Fox Nut (Makhana), Raisins(Kismis), Almonds.

How to Make Rice Pudding?

1. First of all , take a Heavy Bottom pan add 2 liters of milk Porridge in it. Wait for the process of Boiling Milk.

2. When the milk boils, add well-soaked rice into it, which we had already kept aside for 20 minutes and drain after washing it. Due to this the ” Rice” (chawal) gets cooked quickly. Then stirring occasionally to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pan.

3. Cook the Rice until it become soft and milk has thickened to a creamy consistency, which may take about 40 – 50 minutes.

4. Then, add Sugar . After adding sugar, our pudding will be a little thin but in 5 to 7 minutes it will become very thick.

5. Then take 1/4 cup nuts (Dry Coconut, Cashew, Fox Nut, Raisins and Almonds) , Roast them in One table Spoon ghee in a saperate frying pan.

6. Once Pudding become Thick , add roasted Nuts. Then add 1/4 spoon Cardamom Powder.

7. Serve the rice Pudding “hot” or “chilled”, according to your preference . Enjoy your homemade rice pudding!
